Our Work

Creative Change is a non-profit organization that conducts theatre-education project days with children and young people across Germany, aiming to address social challenges together and manage conflicts sustainably. Currently, Creative Change carries out 238 projects annually nationwide, helping participants to develop and realize their individual potential.

In addition to project days, Creative Change also offers professional development for educational staff, integrating innovative approaches to conflict resolution and personal development into everyday school life. Since 2019, there has also been a program on 'Children’s Rights' specifically for kindergartens, which fosters awareness of their own rights from an early age. As the operator of six full-day schools in Offenbach, Creative Change also brings its expertise directly into local educational work.

A significant milestone is the EU project Juventus, which Creative Change has been managing since 2024. This project enables Europe-wide collaboration, supporting young people in actively and creatively shaping their own future.

With the model program 'Stage of Generations,' Creative Change is also expanding its impact: the focus is on theatre-educational work with older adults in Offenbach. The goal is to create new opportunities for social interaction, learning, and active participation. The program promotes social inclusion in later life, strengthens social networks, and makes an important contribution to lifelong learning.

In addition, Creative Change is involved in integration work through introductory orientation courses and German language courses (Deutsch4U) for refugees. The introductory courses provide basic knowledge about life in Germany—covering topics such as housing, work, health, education, and legal systems—and help participants orient themselves in everyday life. Complementing this, the German courses offer a language foundation that enables social participation and independent action in the new environment.

With a comprehensive range of programs—from kindergarten projects and teacher training to intergenerational and integration-promoting initiatives—Creative Change consistently pursues the goal of broadening perspectives, strengthening resilience, and encouraging people to make use of their own scope for action.

Establishment

Pedram was born in Germany in 1988 as the son of Iranian migrants. His parents had been persecuted in their home country, a nation with a totalitarian regime. Pedram grew up in Bavaria. When he started first grade in Ingolstadt, he spoke flawless German. Nevertheless, he was placed in a German language course solely because of his foreign-sounding name. During his time at the gymnasium, he experienced numerous instances of discrimination. The experiences of his childhood and youth—especially the fact that he was unjustly expelled from school—motivated him to engage in anti-racist work and to promote democratic structures in schools.

Development of the Organization

In 2015, Creative Change began conducting theatre-education project days at schools. We quickly developed and gained extensive experience, adapting our structures along the way. Today, we are active in all federal states. In over 238 project weeks per year, we currently reach approximately 16,112 children and young people. We have developed additional programs and are operators of full-day schools, carry out projects for kindergartens, and provide various professional development courses for educational staff
